So, beginning August 22nd, I will be so starting a 7-week Mental Fitness program with PQ Intelligence™. This program includes weekly homework and seven weeks of group coaching on Tuesday evenings. Additionally, I am offering a Reclaim Your Spiritual Compass program that piggybacks on the 7-week Mental Fitness program, where we take a much deeper dive into working through your specific Saboteurs, your Sage, and shadow and includes 4 private sessions and more group coaching. You can watch a brief introduction to Mental Fitness HERE and a more in-depth (20-minute) webinar on both programs HERE. I know I use ‘life-changing’ often, but this truly is not to be missed! I promise. This is a deeply discounted program - space is limited so grab a friend and sign up today!
Are You Mentally Fit?
Mental fitness is defined by our capacity to handle life’s challenges with positive rather than negative emotions. So the question is, “Are you mentally fit?” If you answered “yes,” read no further. If you answered “no,” “I don’t know,” or “I’m intrigued,” then read on.
You may or may not know, that I recently completed a Mental Fitness program called PQ Intelligence™ and FELL IN LOVE. The program radically simplifies the negative emotions we feel, our Saboteurs, and teaches us how to change them into positive emotions, our Sage, throughout our day, no matter what our day brings. This program goes far beyond a meditation practice without the lengthy time commitments of a daily meditation practice. Even if you think you are on the right path, I can tell you from experience, these Mental Fitness lessons take your path to new heights.

Blog and Group Coaching
Too busy learning over here to grow a business…..
This week’s blog - The Know-It-All Discovers Her Shadow. I actually didn’t know I had one so this has been a major growth week for me.
Group coaching will move to 7:00 pm on Thursday nights. Too tough for most people to make the 6:15 pm. Register here
Always the Student
I love to learn. Right now, I am learning all about the Enneagram (much more to come on this topic) and Positive Intelligence. I’m taking courses in both and really enjoying it.
Positive Intelligence is all about our Saboteurs and changing these little negative characters into our positive Sage powers. This course is based on Shirzad Chamine’s book Positive Intelligence and it is life-changing. I don’t say that about too many books (maybe a dozen at this point) so heed the advice.
In this week’s blog, I tackle The Judge. Mine is The Bully. Check out my blog here and learn all about her!
Just a blog this week....
Going on vacation so I only had time for a blog this week. This week’s blog is all about having healthy boundaries with siblings. I hope you find it helpful!
The Big Takeways from Holding Space for Health
We spent 13 weeks together, 12 sessions (skipped vacation week). By week THREE those that were going to stay the course, had their heads in the game. Some people right from the start knew they were in it. By week Seven, mindset had changed. Interestingly, that is one week longer than my first program which I felt wasn’t long enough. The group ended up really caring about each other and wanting one another to have success. Thursday night was a night everyone looked forward to, to connect, share and support. Final notes on the FOUR RULES:
The scale is a friend not a foe. Must be a lifelong habit.
Exercise is a nonnegotiable.
The food journal is a tool that some people need to hold on to, others don’t.
Alcohol - a hot topic. No right or wrong on this one. Just keep it in check.
There you have it! I am debating about when to offer it again. Maybe throughout the summer. Stay tuned.
If you would like to read my blog this week, its about what I would say if I was invited to do a Ted Talk. Check it out here.

This is a fantastic opportunity to create some forward motion in your life whether it is to be held accountable to your health goals, improve your relationships, or your spiritual journey. Accountability is scientifically proven to work so if you have been wondering why those New Year’s resolutions have come and gone, it is because of a lack of accountability. It isn’t YOU. It is SCIENCE!
Tell a friend and have her/him join you. There is nothing better than double the accountability!

Review: It is with gratitude I was invited to join in on Julie's soulful practice workshop. The timing was perfect for me to rekindle the fire in my own soul-searching journey. Her book, "The Little Guide to Finding Our Lost Souls", is just that. A guide to read with questions to ponder and suggestions for practicing. I highly recommend the book and the workshop to either begin or continue the awakening of finding your true self.

Continuing to Live in the Mystery
Please remember to forward this email to anyone you think might benefit.
Many times I sit down at my computer, take a moment or two of silence and then see what happens while my fingers press down on the keyboard. This week, I continue to embrace living in the mystery, as many times, I have no idea what is going to come out!
I was told months ago by my astrologist (I know, you may not be a believer and that is ok) that something big would be happening in March so I wrestle with “the doing without the knowing” - seemingly my theme for 2023 - living in the Mystery.
Below, I embrace this with my watercolor practice AND introduce my 12 Future Self Principles. The watercolor work is just an exercise my good friend and art mentor, Sally, suggested I play with. So I did. Not a finished product, BUT by putting it out there, I am forced to continue to live in the mystery, adding to it and seeing what else percolates.
Move forward in the unknowing and KNOW that is ok. This is living in the Mystery, towards the Unknown with daily forward motion whether you know the why or not.
Click on the watercolor below to be taken to my 12 Future Self Principles - my blog for this week. The essence of my coaching practice all rolled up into a neat list of
12 daily to-dos.

Document the moments you feel most in love with yourself, what you’re wearing, who you’re around, what you’re doing. Recreate and repeat. Warsan Shire
I LOVE IT! A beautiful reminder to keep loving ourselves and repeating how that feels. So important.
This week in our workshop, we worked on having homework, self-prescribed homework, and the workshop seemed to be fueled with more intention. I wrote everyone’s plan down for the next two weeks as we held space for one another to re-commit or double-down on our health intentions. I am looking forward to seeing what happens over the next two weeks as some people head off for vacations. Like I said to the group, “wherever you are, whether it is in Stowe, VT or Florida, you practice your healthy lifestyle. That doesn’t change.”
Book Club Night - Meet the Author
You know I’m not really one to plug anything I do, but here I go - you’ve been warned. If you are looking for a fun night (or afternoon) with your book club, I would be happy to meet with your group for FREE to discuss my book, The little Guide to Finding Our Lost Souls (which can be purchased here). It’s a great way to spend some time with your book club friends, discussing all things Lost Souls-related and doing a medium-deep dive into the lessons in the book. Just email me and we can arrange it!
CURATING THROUGH GRIEF WITH LOVE
A beautiful weekend with my oldest son getting married ended in the news of a local young man losing his life in a skiing accident. The elation of the weekend screeched to a halt to feel the deep grief that only comes from losing such a wonderful person. Pure light and love, Jack had so many friends and lit up the room when he entered. We will all deeply miss him.
I wasn’t prepared for the role my Health workshop would play in the grieving process our entire community was feeling. Almost every participant showed up to the workshop. The workshop provided the space to fully express themselves. I had planned to chat about travel and special occasions but quickly had to pivot to consider how difficult this health thing is when we are grieving. Naturally, we want to reach for comfort foods or worse, drinks, or for some of us, we have no appetite. I realized in the midst of the workshop, what we need to do during a deep grieving process is to take the time to take care of ourselves by making better food choices, and exercising or getting out in nature. In general, you can’t care for anyone else unless you are caring for yourself. It is so important to be able to hold space for those who need it and if we are depleted, we simply can’t be there for them. We must fill our cups with LOVE for ourselves and this includes continuing to make healthy choices. Only then can we show up in LOVE for those in our lives that depend on us. I suggested they curate their days with time carved out for self-care, preparing healthy foods, and exercise. All of this is curating in the name of LOVE. And then, we can give of ourselves.
If you want to read a fabulous book about curating for your creative self and yes, everyone is creative because every day we curate our days, read The Creative Act: A Way of Being by Rick Rubin. Life changing.

Holding Space for Soul
This week we tackled Awakened Values from page 74 of The little Guide to Finding Our Lost Souls. Participants were tasked with finding just three to work on. The list is extensive which made the exercise difficult but it also let them see how many they are already integrating in their lives which is so valuable to the world. We need more people showing up for others in these ways. Check it out below. Which ones do you want to focus on this week?
Holding Space for Health
This week the participants seemed to be settling into their new normal of no alcohol, food journaling, weighing in and mixing up their exercise to keep it interesting and “fun.” We touched on habit trackers and the different tweaks that need to be made now and again to invoke change in our lives. I chatted about intrinsic vs extrinsic motivation and found that while several participants seem to be intrinsically motivated at this point (their successes definitely fuel this) there are others who need some external motivation. For those women, we have a plan in place. Let’s see how this unfolds.

Holding Space for Soul Workshop Week 3
This week we tackled the opposite of Attachment (Letting Go), Judgment (Acceptance), and Control (Surrender). It has been fun to really get into the analysis and nuances of these as they seemingly all mean the same thing. However, if you really take a look at each one, there are certain circumstances pertaining to each one. Sure, if someone cuts you off, you can say “let it go” but really the first step of this process is to acknowledge it isn’t personal, don’t judge them, and accept the situation. Of course, letting it go is key but we must practice letting go of our attachments. Much suffering comes from not letting go of attachments and suffering is a choice. The final practice of the three, Surrendering, is one I am really working on. I also call this Living in the Mystery. The truth is we have no control over what happens to us. We can choose to fight it or surrender to it. Again, pain is a reality of life, suffering is a choice. When we hold on to attachments, judgments, and control, we are choosing to suffer. Let’s choose peace.
Do everything with a mind that lets go
If you let go a little, you will have a little peace.
If you let go a lot, you will have a lot of peace.
If you let go completely, you will know complete peace and freedom.
Your struggles with the world wll have come to and end.

Holding Space for Health Workshop Week 4
This week we continue to tweak our habit trackers. I encouraged the group to be kind to themselves, knowing there will be some shifting with their “habits,” to get to really what serves them and to listen to those. We chatted (I mostly lectured) about the importance of strength training for bone strength, psychological strength, and the fact that your resting calorie burning rate (resting metabolic rate) increases with more developed muscles. WIN-WIN-WIN.
There are only two days in the year that nothing can be done.
One is called Yesterday and the other is called Tomorrow.
Today is the right day to love, believe, do, and mostly live.

The Seeker’s Muse Explained
I had an interesting conversation with a client, one who I know won’t just be my cheerleader. I asked her what she thought about my proclamation The Seeker’s Muse. I read a book recently (what else is new although this was about marketing - painful) and the author recommended having a quick (two to three words) phrase describing your “alias” so that people immediately know what you do. After speaking to said client, she didn’t really understand why I called myself the Seeker’s Muse. So here it goes:
Seeker: A person who is attempting to find or obtain something.
Muse: A person who is the source of inspiration.
While a “muse” might be a stretch, you get the idea. I love helping people “find or obtain something” and I feel my intuition, experience, and ability to listen allow me to be their muse. I don’t think I’m all that (a muse is a pretty big deal) but I do think I can help people and I wanted a catchy word to explain that. Hope that makes sense.
BLOG (READ IT HERE)
This week in Holding Space for Soul we took a deep dive into Influenced Self and what it exactly means to you use the term “True Self.” I reminded the participants that the True Self is the one that shows up without any stories, preconceived ideas, or judgments (your Influenced Self has you covered in this area) and is able to hold space for the person they are with - showing up fully present. Eckhart Tolle says it is the most important gift we can give one another - The Present. (I LOVE THAT!) This week’s blog is all about Discovering True Self.

Holding Space for Health
This week we checked in on our habit trackers. Participants were tasked with adding self-care or “something fun” to it. Their ideas included taking care of my feet (it is winter here!), enjoying a cup of tea, walking the dog a bit longer and many more. I reminded them that the habit tracker meets you where you are and not to compare yours with anyone else’s. Add what you want, when you have the capacity. We chatted about the fact that weight loss is calories in/calories out and that it is different for everyone - there is no blanket rule here. I reminded them that the key to weight loss is feeling hungry and getting used to that. Also, Hara Hachi Bu was introduced, the concept of feeling 8/10ths full. Satisfied, not full. A fascinating concept for Americans who are taught to go big or go home! Next week they are tasked with adding a new healthy habit to their tracker. Everyone is getting on the scale and becoming friends with it - the best metric we’ve got. One woman mused, “Had I always had a scale, I probably wouldn’t be in this situation.” Probably true - but that will now forever change as she uses this metric daily.
Surrender and other tough practices
As you see from my habit tracker (below), I’m all about self-improvement, personal growth or whatever else you want to call it. I know, I know - people don’t like to use self-improvement anymore, but the truth is we are all a work in progress and if we think we are perfect as is, where is the growth? This week, in my blog and in my one-on-one conversations, the recurrent theme seems to be Surrender - Living in the Mystery. After all, we can only control our actions and reactions, after that, it is up to the Universe and it is up to us to get comfortable with the not-knowing, i.e. Surrender. Did you know that the Christian cross is really a symbol for Surrender? I learned that this week (listening to Eckhart Tolle on Audible - The Journey Into Yourself - which is fabulous by the way) and it made me weepy. It was just so beautiful and powerful, almost made me want to run out and buy a cross (which I won’t) or tattoo it on my wrist (which I really won’t) but still very powerful and now I have a different perspective when I see them on others. My visual reminder to Surrender. And I will tack it on to my habit tracker - as another reminder, I am not in control!
Workshop updates
Holding Space for Health: This week I introduced the habit tracker. This is a fabulous addition to my daily life that holds me accountable for the things I want to work on. I call it my Future Self. Here is an example of mine.
In the workshop, I ask participants to start one, not for eating well and exercising (and no alcohol and weighing in) but for a completely different habit - one that they have wanted to integrate into their lives but haven’t found an accountability tool. I have eating well and exercise on mine but I also have art, write and read/learn. Of course, taking care of my body is for my future self, but the other things are equally important. My goal is to show them that the habit tracker is for their future selves and that what we do now matters. Like Lao Tzu said:
Watch your thoughts, they become your words, watch your words, they become your actions, watch your actions they become your habits, watch your habits, they become your character, watch your character, it becomes your destiny.
LOVE IT!!
Holding Space for Soul: This week we began to tackle Influenced Self (Ego) and all of the hats we wear and the stories associated with those hats. A big topic but an important one in order to come home to your True Self. We read the first chapter in The little Guide to Finding Our Lost Souls and together we held space for each other to break down what Ego means, the role it plays in our lives, and how to discern it from reality. Yes, Big Stuff! To be continued next week.
Blog: Dreams Aren’t Just Weird.
This week’s blog includes how my dream interpretation about
an anglerfish led to a higher Truth.
NEW YEAR, NEW HABITS
This was something we chatted about last night in our Holding Space for Health workshop (among many other things). Taking control of what we can control, our eating and exercising habits, etc. isn’t easy, but it is worth it.

Together we will work through self-discovery tools to aid in reflection and discover what truly matters in our lives. My commitment to you is to assist this process through fun exercises for 6 weeks. Your commitment to me is a habit tracker and an open heart.
If you are ready, email me. Limited to 10 people. Zoom meetings, Wednesdays 8:00-9:30 pm EST, begins 1/11 and runs through 2/15.
Bye Bye Social Media
Every week when I sit down to do my social media, I dread it. I love doing the watercolors and occasionally finding an inspiring quote but truthfully, the required commitment feels unauthentic and drains me. So, I’ve decided to say goodbye to social media and instead use my energy to do the work I love.
But how will you build your business (you might ask)? Great question. I don’t really know how it will grow without social media. The truth is, it didn’t with it! Instead, I plan to put my energy into what I really love - writing, coaching people, and spreading light and love. This newsletter (more consistently written weekly) will include an “ask the muse” section (send in your burning coaching questions), giveaways (including workshops, coaching sessions, and more), inspirational quotes (of course!), my weekly blog, and more. My request is if you find value in it, you share it with your friends. Truly this is how I build an audience - the support of my current subscribers sharing the love.
Let’s see where this strategy takes us! So for this week….

ASK THE MUSE - PERSPECTIVE
Since I don’t have a question this week, I thought I would share an experience that happened over Christmas week with my grown children. We were on day 6 of spending time together (full disclosure - they were in their own Airbnb). The topic, unfortunately, of politics came up. We have a moderate son and a strong liberal daughter in the house to name just two opinions. My daughter was deeply offended by her brother, who was choosing not to vote if he didn’t like either candidate. It escalated. My cool manner wasn’t working. Finally, I said, (very loudly), “BE QUIET! BOTH OF YOU ZIP YOUR LIPS.” (not really the advice I would suggest but it got them to be quiet). When they realized I was serious (I never raise my voice) and things settled down, I gave them a quick lesson in perspective. There is no right or wrong. There is simply perspective and the sooner you can embrace this concept, the sooner you will have peace (especially with your sibling!). A lesson, you (and apparently I) can use whenever things are getting a bit heated. Here is a bit more on this lesson from my book (edited excerpt), The little Guide to Finding Our Lost Souls.
When emotions are flaring you have to change the story, change
the voice inside your head, the story you are telling yourself. This is your
Influenced Self getting in the way. All the attacks my grown children felt, they were taking it
personally, but it wasn’t personal, it was perspective. It does not matter who
is right or wrong, it just is and most of it is not true, just roles with
attached stories. These little storms and stories with resolution (agreeing to disagree)
enforce the bond and encourage growth together. You show up as the adult you
want to be, the one you agreed to be when you entered into the
relationship in the first place. Not everyone acts like an adult so
just make peace with this reality. You don’t need to explain to the
people in your life that their Influenced Self is getting in the way.
That isn’t your job, as tempting as it might be.
It is your job though to recognize your Influenced Self and tame it at the moment.
A name change and this week's musings
Since my book artist, Tara Mirakian, drew the beautiful rock spiral, I have been slowly integrating it into my website and posts. I just love it! With that, I’ve also changed the name of my coaching practice to The Seeker’s Muse. It is my intention, to work with you towards the changes you want to make in your life, in wellness, relationships, or spirituality but with a softer more supportive feeling to the coaching practice name. I hope you like it.
